A working community for creative professionals in Bristol
Saffron Records has set up a new music and creative co-working space in the heart of Stokes Croft. They offer flexible occupancies that include full time co-working space and more flexible hot desking.
With a huge and ever growing creative quarter, and regularly voted as the best city to live, Bristol attracts people from all around the country. It is therefore exciting, and vital, to build a robust network and space for these professionals to connect.
A really important project for Saffron Records, Saffron Space embodies all that is at the heart of the organisation. It builds community and offers alternative opportunities for Bristol’s creatives, whilst addressing gender imbalances in the industry.
Saffron work with young women across Bristol through their various music technology courses, education programs, and apprenticeships. With this in mind they wanted to create a space where men can have more involvement in the work they do. In the spirit of collaboration, this space naturally lends itself to networking and partnership opportunities. It increases diversity, equality and opportunities for younger generations entering the industry.
The space has been decked out by upcoming Bristol lighting designer ‘Lumo Lights’, while beautiful plants and herbs create a healthy and inspiring atmosphere. With stalls created from disused office shelves, the office design is flexible, allowing people to personalise their space and feel at home. With Askew Architects fully backing the Space’s ethos and supporting Saffron from initiation through to implementation, Bristol continues to astound in its support for independent creative industries.
